APPLE ECEAP Preschool goes to the pumpkin patch!
Posted on 10/23/2018
APPLE ECEAP Preschool In October, APPLE ECEAP Preschool has a long standing tradition to take all of the students to Foster's Cornmaze and Pumpkin Patch. Both the morning students and the afternoon students went on the field trip. We had amazing weather! Blue skies, sunshine, and not one single raindrop. We had a lot of parents that joined us on the field trip. Thank you!! The students got to use the apple sling, ride a cow train, see some goats, and pick their very own pumpkin to take home. What will you do with your pumpkin? Take some time to let us know! I saw that you can turn pumpkin guts into slime! I have never done it before, but here is the recipe if you are interested:

PUMPKIN SLIME
1. Cut off the top of the pumpkin
2. Make room in the pumpkin by loosing up all the seeds and guts. I did take some out to make room but the whole idea is to incorporate the parts of the pumpkin into the slime.
3. Mix 1/2 cup room temp water with 1/2 cup of clear Elmers Washable School Glue {other brands of glue do not work well. You can use white but you won’t see as much of the pumpkin}. Stir well.
4. Measure a 1/2 cup of liquid starch and pour directly into pumpkin.5. Pour glue and water mixture into the pumpkin
6. Get your hands in there and mix! Have fun!

For people who are a little more traditional with their pumpkin, here is a recipe for
PUMPKIN SEEDS
1. Clean pumpkin seeds and let dry.
2. Preheat oven to 300 degrees F.
3. Toss seeds in a bowl with melted butter and salt.
4. Put on a cookie sheet in an even single layer and cook for 45 minutes, or until golden brown. Stir occasionally.
Yum!
